According to the results of second quarter of 2005 published by FIDER, the Association of Leasing Companies, Garanti Leasing is again the leading company in terms of transaction volume and number of contracts just like in the first quarter. Garanti Leasing is maintaining its leading position with a share of 18.6% in transaction volume and 18.9% in market share.
Garanti Leasing, the leading Turkish leasing company in the first quarter, has increasingly maintained its leading position in the second quarter of 2005, according to the results published by FIDER, Association of Leasing Companies. The overall sector figures were 16456 contracts in the first six months, and Garanti Leasing achieved 3104 contracts and a market share of 18.9%. The overall transaction in the same period was 1.8 billion dollars, 334.9 billion dollars of which was realized by Garanti Leasing, and the company achieved a market share of 18.6% in terms of transaction volume. Compared to the data of the first six months of last year, the sector grew by 40% in the first six months of this year, and Garanti Leasing increased its transaction volume by 92% in the same period.
Mr. Selami Ekin, General Manager of Garanti Leasing expressed his satisfaction due to their being the sector leader in the second quarter like they were in the first quarter, and said "Garanti Leasing is increasingly growing to become a Turkish leasing company operating with global standards. Thanks to our financial reputation in international markets, we buy funds with good prices, which we provide to our corporate, commercial and SME clients.” Ekin, who stated that they target to achieve a high level of penetration in the leasing sector like in developed countries, said, “We have achieved a market share of 18.6% in terms of transaction volume among the 39 companies, which are members of FIDER. We have managed to increase our market share in this quarter, which was 17% in the first three months, and we have realized a 92% growth, which was greater than the growth in the sector. We have made this achievement through devoted teamwork of our employees, trust of the dealer companies with whom we make strategic collaboration and our clients, and the support provided by our major shareholder Garanti Bank. Another thing that makes us happy is that in addition to this achievement, the leasing sector is growing. As the companies operating in this sector advance their technological infrastructure and organizational structure towards the models in modern western countries, the growth in the sector will speed up."
