According to the assessments of the first quarter of 2005 by FIDER, the Association of Leasing Companies, Garanti Leasing is the leader in the sector with a market share of 17% in terms of operational volume, number of contracts and lease receivables.
Garanti Leasing, the leading Turkish leasing company, has ranked first in the grading in terms of transaction volume, number of contracts and total lease receivables according to the results related to the first quarter of 2005 as declared by FIDER, the Association of Leasing Companies. Garanti Leasing, which executed 1140 contracts in the first quarter of 2005 among the overall 6819 contracts executed by the entire sector, has achieved a market share of 17% with this figure. Garanti Leasing performed 120.7 million dollar part of the overall 711 million dollar transaction volume in the same period, and thus achieved a market share of 17% in terms of transaction volume. The total lease receivables in the first quarter amounted up to 832 million dollars in the entire sector, and the lease receivables of Garanti Leasing amounted up to 141 million dollars in the same quarter.
Mr. Selami Ekin, General Manager of Garanti Leasing stated that their being the leader in all the sector figures declared was a result of their long-term strategic planning and working, and said "The share of leasing in the overall investments in the world is very high. We, as Garanti Leasing, target to make a lot more investments through leasing. Thus, we are providing leasing services to our corporate, commercial and SME clients, regardless of their being major or small businesses. We had a share of 11.7% in 2004 in terms of transaction volume, whereas now we have managed to increase our share to 17% in the first three months."
Ekin highlighted the fact that Garanti Leasing is the company with the most extensive marketing network in Turkey, and said "In addition to our own marketing network, we will maintain our leading position in the sector by reaching our customers through the branches our major shareholder Garanti Bank. We predict that the market share of medium-term leasing among total investments in Turkey, which is currently 7%, can reach 12-13%."
