Garanti Finansal Kiralama A.Ş. (Garanti Leasing) has borrowed a syndication loan of 30,000,000.- USD from banks abroad, and a loan of 7,000,000.- EUR from the French development organization PROPARCO. The loan borrowed from PROPARCO is particularly important because it is the first loan lent by this organization to Turkey.
The 1-year term loan of 20,000,000.- USD borrowed in May 2004 has been increased to 30,000,000.- USD due to intensive requests from banks abroad and has been renewed. The loan borrowed with Libor + 1% annual price remains the only syndication loan in the leasing sector.
The 5-year term loan of 7,000,000.- EUR borrowed on 1 April 2005 in Paris from PRORARCO, the branch of French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement) for loans lent to private sector is the first loan lent to Turkey by this organization.
The funds provided with these two operations, which very well indicate the reliability and recognition of Garanti Leasing in international markets, shall be used to meet the increasing demands for leasing of small and medium scale enterprises in line with the company’s increasing market share.
